Program accomplishments

  • Residential, day, employment and community based Services for intellectually/developmentally disabled. RHD offers community based residential, shared living, community integration/participation,Case management, and arts based day services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These services are offered in 30 RHD programs in Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Massachusetts, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and south Dakota. Schedule O for continuationProgram service accomplishments include: Located in Philadelphia, PA, RHD's IDEATE is an inclusive employment program dedicated to providing trauma-informed support to individuals with barriers to getting and sustaining earning opportunities. In fiscal year 2025, IDEATE celebrated its tenth year as the only Technology First business incubator for disabled small business owners. This year also saw a programmatic expansion into urban farming and the opening of its first retail space.Outside The Lines Studio underwent licensing review by Department of Developmental Services Office of Quality Enhancement (OQE) in June of 2025. The program received positive results and met 97% of all license indicators. The evaluator said that "support staff were found knowledgeable about each person's unique needs. Individuals were well supported to participate in daily community-based activities which aligned with personal interests, were well connected to peers and community members, and were supported to explore vocational interests." Since the OQE survey, we continue to increase community inclusion by connecting with partners, such as the Urban Youth Collaborative program, for passes to local museums, galleries and zoos. These opportunities have contributed to the well-being of people we serve by fostering better mental and physical health through opportunities for social connections and economic endeavors. It also helps fight stigma and misconceptions about this population by promoting a more equitable, understanding and innovative community for everyone. RHD Lifesharing provider, Eve Killimett, was honored by the Carbon-Monroe-Pike Advisory Board with an award recognizing her exemplary performance in service provision to individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illness. This distinction reflects Eve's unwavering dedication, compassion, and commitment to person-centered support. Her work truly exemplifies the values of Lifesharing and the meaningful impact providers have every day. Additionally, Jeanette Loch, an individual supported through our Lifesharing program, was appointed to serve on the Northampton County Quality Council, representing all individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (ID/A) within Northampton County. Jeanette's appointment is a powerful example of advocacy, leadership, and the importance of ensuring individuals supported have a voice in shaping the systems that serve them.

  • Residential and supportive housing services for people with mental illness.RHD's residential services offer individuals with mental illnesses a variety of effective and innovative resources, such as creative arts therapies and the companion model, all geared toward helping them live as independently as possible within their communities. Offerings range from simple residential group living to independent housing. Some living models offer a higher level of guidance to provide care for individuals with a dual diagnosis, or more fragile medical conditions. These services are offered in 55 RHD programs located in Delaware, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. Program service accomplishments include: RHD PIER (Pledge for Independent Empowerment & Recovery) is the only long term structured residence exclusively serving Bucks County residents of Pennsylvania. In FY 2025, the program saw the first of three long-term residents graduate to more independent settings. This type of movement into the community from this level of care is extremely rare and a huge accomplishment for the individuals, indicative of program success.Project Advantage is permanent housing for homeless women with a mental health diagnosis and a history of chronic homelessness, located in Philadelphia, PA. All program residents were successfully travel trained and are now able to travel independently in the community. One of our residents' mental health improved and she was able to return to live with her parents.RHD Bridges provides specialized supportive housing to individuals with mental illness and/or co-occurring addictions who have formerly resided at Mayview State Hospital. The program has four clients that have been with the program and maintained community tenure since 2008. Brides grew continuously by adding an additional female bed. More clinical staffing was added, which includes a nurse, a certified peer specialist, and a care coordinator. Treatment planning was implemented along with documented life skills groups, and the program began intensive community integration with outings and groups in the community. SALT Philadelphia is proud to celebrate meaningful, client-centered accomplishments. We have empowered 50% of clients with medication education, teaching them to identify, take, and manage meds independently. Participants have learned to navigate the community using public transportation, and we even supported one client in obtaining a driver's license. To foster community and wellness, some participants hosted peer groups twice a month, covering topics like leading fitness classes and painting. We've helped clients obtain employment, budget their personal funds, and ensure rent is paid on time, reinforcing financial stability and independence.

Progress Haven in Philadelphia, PA, successfully engaged over 40 individuals this fiscal year 2024/2025. The program met individuals where they were at and assisted them in attaining entitlements, services, and stability. Progress Haven staff have continued to help residents navigate access to Case Management/Mental health support/ Medical insurance) services, supported residents through interpersonal conflict issues, and motivated others to pursue personal life goals. An example of the hard work and dedication staff have given is encapsulated in the success of one of our couples. Resident A and resident B came to Progress Haven in May 2025. Resident A's addiction to K2 had stymied the individual's progress to the point where staff had to intervene numerous times. Their partner was also addicted and they were not seeing eye to eye. Since that rocky beginning we were able to help Resident A find and maintain gainful employment, facilitated their improved relations as a couple, and assisted Resident B with finding outpatient treatment for addiction. Resident A has been approached by management at her job to supervise her shift. The couple has been awarded a voucher and look forward to starting their new life once they find their apartment.During the physical year of 7/2024-6/2025, Woodstock Family Center had two (2) participants that were selected for PHA housing, and sixteen (16) participants that were able to obtain housing on their own.
