Mission
NJAFP IS THE LARGEST PRIMARY CARE MEDICAL SOCIETY IN THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY AND A CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF FAMILY PHYSICIANS (AAFP). NJAFP'S MISSION IS TO PROMOTE EXCELLENCE IN THE STANDARDS AND PRACTICE OF FAMILY MEDICINE TO BENEFIT THE CITIZENS OF THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH PROMOTING THE IMPORTANCE OF THE PATIENT/PHYSICIAN RELATIONSHIP, ASSISTING MEN AND WOMEN ENTERING THE PRACTICE OF MEDICINE, PROMOTING AND SUPPORTING CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION, ENHANCING THE IMAGE OF FAMILY MEDICINE IN THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY, PROMOTING FAMILY MEDICINE OBJECTIVES BEFORE VARIOUS LEGISLATIVE BODIES, AND PROMOTING AND INCREASING AWARENESS IN THE PRACTICE OF FAMILY MEDICINE WITH STUDENTS.

- ANNUAL CONFERENCE - HOST AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE TO PROVIDE FAMILY PHYSICIANS AND OTHER HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS (PAS, NPS, RNS, LPNS), RESIDENTS, MEDICAL STUDENTS AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT STAFF WITH A COMPREHENSIVE DEEP DIVE INTO CURRENT DISEASE MANAGEMENT, DIAGNOSIS, AND TREATMENT OPTIONS FOCUSED ON PROVIDING TOOLS AND GUIDELINES FOR THE ENTIRE HEALTHCARE TEAM TO BOOST AND IMPROVE PATIENT OUTCOMES.
- HEALTHCARE TRANSFORMATION - NJAFP SEEKS TO PROMOTE HEALTHCARE TRANSFORMATION, INCLUDING PRACTICE TRANSFORMATION AND QUALITY IMPROVEMENT, THROUGH RESEARCH AND EDUCATION, COACHING, PROGRAM SUPPORT, AND THE PROMOTION OF OTHER PATIENT CENTERED SERVICES AND IS A ACCREDITED PROVIDER OF CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION BY THE ACCREDITATION COUNCIL FOR CONTINUING MEDIAL EDUCATION (ACCME).
