Mission
THE ORGANIZATIONS MISSION IS TO INSPIRE GIRLS TO BE JOYFUL, HEALTHY AND CONFIDENT USING A FUN, EXPERIENCE-BASED CURRICULUM WHICH CREATIVELY INTEGRATES RUNNING.
Program accomplishments
- GIRLS ON THE RUN NEW JERSEY EAST IS A PHYSICAL ACTIVITY BASED POSITIVE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM SERVING GIRLS IN 3RD THROUGH 8TH GRADE. THE EVIDENCE-BASED CURRICULUM ADDRESSES PHYSICAL, MENTAL, SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING AND IS DELIVERED BY TRAINED, CARING VOLUNTEER COACHES. THE POSITIVE IMPACTS OF THE PROGRAM HAVE BEEN PROVEN THROUGH AN INDEPENDENT LONGITUDINAL STUDY: SELF-ESTEEM SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASES; COMMITMENT TO PHYSICAL ACTIVITY INCREASES; AND BODY IMAGE IMPROVES, AMONG MANY TRANSFORMATIONAL OUTCOMES.Expenses $445,632 · revenue $292,506
