PU`ULU LAPA`AU'S MISSION IS TO PROMOTE PATIENT SAFETY AND CARE BY IMPROVING THE HEALTH, WELL-BEING, AND EFFECTIVENESS OF HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS. THE ORGANIZATION DOES THIS BY OFFERING CONFIDENTIAL SUPPORT AND ADVOCACY FOR PHYSICIANS, PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS, PHARMACISTS, NURSES, DENTISTS, PSYCHOLOGISTS, MEDICAL RESIDENTS, MEDICAL STUDENTS, AND OTHER HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS.

- FOR PROFESSIONALS WITH ANY LEVEL OF PRACTICE CONCERNS, PU'ULU LAPA'AU CAN PROVIDE AN OUTLINE OR PROCESS TO RETAIN OR REGAIN OPTIMAL FUNCTION. THERE ARE MANY REASONS WHY A PROFESSIONAL'S PERFORMANCE MAY BE COMPROMISED. THEY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ILLNESS, SUBSTANCE ABUSE DISORDERS, STRESS AND WORK LIFE IMBALANCE, ETHICS AND WORKPLACE DYSFUNCTION, AND COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT. PU'ULU LAPA'AU HAS EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE WITH ALL OF THESE CONCERNS AND HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN NAVIGATING THE OFTEN-DIFFICULT JOURNEY TO MAINTAIN, OR RETURN TO, CLINICAL PRACTICE.
