Program accomplishments

  • For the love of Park County, the Park County Community Foundation inspires a culture of generosity and leadership to nuture strong communities while honoring its heritage and uniqueness of place.Community is our middle name. Over the past 18 years, the Park County Community Foundation has grown into the largest foundation focused solely on the livability of Park County, granting close to $19 million locally. The result of true collective effort, PCCF has strengthened the communitys way of coming together and solving local challenges. We help Park County thrive through four main programs:We Will:We Will is a citizen-informed initiative to help citizens, organizations, and governmental entities better impact our shared future --- showing us where our challenges are most acute, where we disagree, and - more importantly - where we agree.Annually, PCCF surveys residents for their perceptions and opinions on life in Park County across five primary issue areas-- Landscapes and Natural Amenities, Small Town and Rural Lifestyle, Economic Performance, Housing and Affordability, and Health Safety and Education. Relevant data is then compiled, tracked, and updated to establish a common set of values and facts. This data is overlayed with the publics perception and compiled in an annual We Will Report as a tool for the community and our own grantmaking.Grounding our grantmaking decisions in data and citizen input is our most effective tool for deep community impact. Informed by the We Will report, annual grants are awarded to select nonprofits most effectively addressing the five We Will issue areas. In 2024, PCCF granted $350,000 to 28 local nonprofits.Nonprofit ACTionWhen we invest in improving the excellence of Park Countys nonprofits, we ensure local nonprofits maximize their ability to help Park County thrive and that our grants and donors investments are well-placed.Nonprofit Action is PCCFs professional development program for the staff and board members of Park Countys nonprofits. Its where nonprofit leaders, staff, and volunteers come to learn together, support each other, and create the strong, effective nonprofit sector we deserve. In 2024, PCCF hosted 10 trainings focused on strategic planning, fundraising, boardmanagement, nonprofit administration, and human resources.Give a HootWe believe our nonprofit community is uplifted when we inspire a culture of generosity. Give a Hoot is a month-long Community Giving Challenge that inspires the entire community to give to their local nonprofits.Since 2019, the Give a Hoot campaign has inspired over $10.2 million from 20,552 donations in support of 100+ participating nonprofit organizations. In 2024, $2.4 million was raised for 93 nonprofits, from over 4,700 donations.Emerging Issues- Park County Council for the ArtsAt PCCF, we have a unique ability to respond to emergent issues and convene people to address them. From disaster response, housing affordability, childcare shortage, arts/culture, and incubating emerging nonprofits, its our mission to selectively step in and help drive local and sustainable solutions. In partnership with the JAKET Foundation, PCCF conducted a comprehensive assessment of the arts to better understand current needs and challenges locally. This assessment revealed an overwhelming focus on a coordinated vision for the future of the arts in Park County. In response, PCCF launched the Park County Arts Council composed of Park County residents with expertise as working artists and nonprofit leadership. The Arts Councils mission is to support and guide a vibrant and inclusive arts culture throughout Park County. In 2024, PCCF granted $500,000 to local nonprofits and schools engaged in arts education, artfocused community gatherings, performing arts spaces, and initial funding for the establishment of the Park County Arts Council.
