Mission

Educating the public and raising awareness about government transparency and accountability

990-EZ for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • The 2025 accomplishments promoted government accountability and transparency including legislative milestones, outreach to the community, editorials, and holding public events to reinforce the need for good government. After years of advocacy, a bill (SB 4) to establish the Delaware State Office of Inspector General (OIG) was passed and signed into law. The OIG will stop and deter fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement at Delaware state agencies. Additionally, DelCOG's advocacy helped pass critical legislation, for example HB 6 and HB 9, which grants the State Auditor subpoena powers and strengthens "double-dipping" laws in the State of Delaware. DelCOG campaigned against unnecessary multimillion-dollar renovations to Legislative Hall, including stopping construction of an underground tunnel. DelCOG supported efforts to address environmental and health concerns, such as demanding transparency on lead in school drinking water and ensuring public input for a proposed hyperscale data center in Delaware's Coastal Zone. DelCOG has consistently monitored the developments of the federal Corporate Transparency Act to address transparency of corporate and LLC beneficial ownership. DelCOG's outreach includes public access at monthly board meetings and sponsoring special public events, such as Sunshine Week and its Annual Meeting. DelCOG's voice works to ensure that our government works in the best interests of all Delawareans.
