990 for the year ended June 30, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • Chinese Language ProgramIn 2011, the University of Kentucky started its Mandarin Language and culture program for K-12 students throughout the state of Kentucky. In 2020, the university of Kentucky closed its K-12 program and it was transferred to the northern Kentucky Coop since the Kentucky department of education had cut its foreign language program. Eventually the program landed at the Northern Kentucky Education Council.Since the programs inception, over 250,000 Kentucky elementary students have been exposed to an early acquisition of a foreign language. This early acquisition impacts brain development and this is the main goal for the program.
    Expenses $284,843
  • One to OneThis is a reading program under our Reduce Barriers to Learning goal. We have coaches who volunteer, in the schools, to work on reading skills with one child once a week. We provide a kit to each coach with games and tools needed for helping the students with reading. We serve 13 districts and 32 schools with this program. Our goal is to grow the program and serve possibly 500 students in our community. The students are not only working on their reading skills but also gaining a friend by the end of the school year.
    Expenses $104,862
