Specifically, through legislative education and awareness and coordination of state and local partnerships.
Program accomplishments
- Legislative Education and Awareness - The Utah Association of Local Health Departments works closely with partner state agency legislative liaisons to provide education to legislators on the needs of local health departments including changes in law, the drafting of new legislation to improve public health infrastructure, and identifying potential funding sources. In the past year local health departments have seen legislation that will improve health outcomes for local communities.
- Coordination of state and local partnerships - Utah Association of Local Health Department proactively establishes ongoing partnerships with state and local leaders to support local health departments in preventing disease, promoting healthy lifestyles, and protecting communities and the environment.
