Mission

The Franklin Stock Company at Chapel Hall, Inc. was established as a not-for-profit corporation under Section 402 of the Not-for-Profit Corporation Law of New York State to assume ownership of Masonic Hall (formerly known as Chapel Hall) located at 25 Institute Street in Franklin, New York and operate there a professional summer theatre as well as other cultural and community activities, and other charitable functions. Two goals converge in this project. The first is cultural. We aim, through innovative and accessible productions of plays from the classical repertory, as well as some of the finest plays of the 20th and 21st centuries, to stimulate interest in live theatre and to enrich the lives of area residents and visitors. The second goal is the preservation of Franklin's beautiful Chapel Hall, a building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We want to ensure that the building will continue to serve as a center of community activity as it has for generations.
