THE PURPOSE OF THE AMERICAN MUSICAL SOCIETY, INC., IS TO PROMOTE THE KNOWLEDGE OF ALL ASPECTS OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS, PARTICULARLY PERTAINING TO THE COLLECTING, HISTORY, PERFORMANCE, USE, CONSTRUCTION, AND RESTORATION OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS OF ALL AGES AND ALL PEOPLE.
