Program accomplishments

  • PLACEMAKING PROGRAM:PLACEMAKING INSPIRES PEOPLE TO COLLECTIVELY REIMAGINE AND REINVENT PUBLIC SPACES AS THE HEART OF EVERY COMMUNITY. STRENGTHENING THE CONNECTION BETWEEN PEOPLE AND THE PLACES THEY SHARE, PLACEMAKING REFERS TO A COLLABORATIVE PROCESS BY WHICH WE CAN SHAPE OUR PUBLIC REALM IN ORDER TO MAXIMIZE SHARED VALUE. MORE THAN JUST PROMOTING BETTER URBAN DESIGN, PLACEMAKING FACILITATES CREATIVE PATTERNS OF USE, PAYING PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE PHYSICAL, CULTURAL, AND SOCIAL IDENTITIES THAT DEFINE A PLACE AND SUPPORT ITS ONGOING EVOLUTION.
    Expenses $1,162,091 · grants $306,000 · revenue $395,373
  • MARKET CITIES:A MARKET CITY IS A GEOGRAPHIC REGION THAT IS WORKING TOWARDS ACHIEVING THE FULL POTENTIAL OF ITS PUBLIC MARKET SYSTEM. A MARKET CITY IS ASPIRATIONAL--IT IS A VISION FOR HOW STAKEHOLDERS CAN WORK TOGETHER TO CREATE THE NECESSARY POLICIES, PARTNERSHIPS, AND RESOURCES THAT PUBLIC MARKETS NEED TO ADDRESS PUBLIC GOALS EFFECTIVELY. THESE INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, IMPROVING HEALTH EQUITY, CREATING ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY, SUPPORTING COMMUNITY RESILIENCE, AND ESTABLISHING A NETWORK OF CULTURALLY RICH GATHERING PLACES THAT COMPLEMENT ONE ANOTHER AND CELEBRATE THE UNIQUE OFFERINGS OF A PLACE.
    Expenses $449,334 · revenue $230,026
