Mission
NATIONAL LGBTQ TASK FORCE ACTION FUND, FOUNDED IN 1974 AS THE NATIONAL GAY AND LESBIAN TASK FORCE, INC., WORKS TO BUILD THE GRASSROOTS POLITICAL POWER OF THE LGBT COMMUNITY TO WIN COMPLETE EQUALITY. WE DO THIS THROUGH DIRECT AND GRASSROOTS LOBBYING TO DEFEAT ANTI-LGBT BALLOT INITIATIVES AND LEGISLATION AND PASS PRO-LGBT LEGISLATION AND OTHER MEASURES. WE ALSO ANALYZE AND REPORT ON THE POSITIONS OF CANDIDATES FOR PUBLIC OFFICE ON ISSUES OF IMPORTANCE TO THE LGBT COMMUNITY. THE TASK FORCE ACTION FUND IS A 501(C)(4) NON-PROFIT CORPORATION INCORPORATED IN NEW YORK. CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE NATIONAL LGBTQ TASK FORCE ACTION FUND ARE NOT TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
Program accomplishments
- DURING THE 2025 CYCLE, WE PRIORITIZED STRENGTHENING TRANS AND NON-BINARY POLITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE THROUGH THE CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT OF A NATIONAL TRANS AND NON-BINARY POWER TABLE. IN 2025, THE NATIONAL LGBTQ TASK FORCE ACTION FUND CONVENED LEADERS FROM PARTNER DEMOCRACY ORGANIZATIONS TO BUILD STRATEGIC ALIGNMENT, COORDINATE ENGAGEMENT STRATEGIES, AND SUPPORT TRANS-LED CIVIC PARTICIPATION.KEY ACTIVITIES INCLUDED COMMISSIONING A NATIONAL POLITICAL LANDSCAPE ASSESSMENT TO BETTER UNDERSTAND TRANS AND NON-BINARY INFRASTRUCTURE, HOSTING A SECOND IN-PERSON CONVENING TO ALIGN STRATEGY AND SHARED PRIORITIES, AND PILOTING A CIVIC ENGAGEMENT COHORT MODEL. THROUGH POOLED RESOURCES, SIX PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS RECEIVED SMALL GRANTS TO SUPPORT TRANS-LED AND TRANS-FOCUSED MIDTERM ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMS. PARTICIPATING PARTNERS ADVANCED COORDINATED VOTER OUTREACH EFFORTS, INCLUDING A TRANS AND NON-BINARY-LED CANVASS PROGRAM IN KEY STATES TO STRENGTHEN AND EVALUATE A SCALABLE MODEL FOR SUSTAINED TRANS-LED POLITICAL ENGAGEMENT.Expenses $489,208 · grants $108,000
