Program accomplishments

  • To provide an opportunity for the fenestration industry manufacturers, suppliers, and independent industry affiliated members to gather and discuss new developments in the industry and to share ideas for improvements. These meetings also provide opportunities to discuss marketing and technical services to improve the industry.
  • To write and enforce, through certification programs, performance specifications for fenestration industry assemblies, performance verifications for fenestration industry components, plus specifications and/or certification for framing and sash materials used in fenestration industry assemblies. Fgia certification program and its "gold label" are accepted as meeting most state and municipal building codes as the foremost fenestration industry certification program for providing assurance of product quality to builders, dealers, and building and home owners. In addition to the "gold label" certification, fgia also has a "silver label" certification to which manufacturers may certify thermal performance.
  • To provide members and nonmembers with easy access to various industry related publications developed by the association which are available for purchase on the association's website.
