- MusicaNova produced or took part in seven concerts in 2023-24:Oct. 8, 2023, at the Musical Instrument Museum: Mozart the Plagiarist examined similarities between Joseph Haydns Symphony no. 13 and Amadeus Mozarts later Symphony no. 41. The world premiere of River Sawchyns Finding Light used elements common in both pieces. Alan Belkins Viola Concerto also received it world premiere.Nov. 5, 2023, at Saint Anthony on the Desert: The Other Side of the Looking Glass featured the MNO String Quartet playingworks by Caroline Shaw, Joseph Haydn and Alexander Borodin.Dec. 3, 2023, at Saint Anthony on the Desert: Holidays with the Sonoran Flutes. Holiday music performed by a flute trio. Jan. 22, 2024, at the Musical Instrument Museum. Finished Unfinished included William Carragans completion of Franz Schuberts Symphony in B minor (Unfinished) and Anton Bruckners Symphony in F minor. March 24, 2024, at the Musical Instrument Museum: Dead Elvis included the title piece by Michael Daugherty, featuring principal bassoon Kristilyn Woods as the soloist in a sequined jumpsuit; Kristin Fray and Anthony Masiello in Franz Krommers Concerto no. 2 for Two Clarinets; Peggy Glanville-Hicks Three Gymnopdies; and Haydns Symphony no. 98. April 21, 2024, at Saint Anthony on the Desert: Heidi Hernandez enchanted the audience with pieces written for the harp, including her originals. May 2024: Sixteen members of the orchestra sat side-by-side with their student counterparts for Harmony Project Phoenixs year-end concert. Educational efforts were focused Arizona School for the Arts and Scottsdale Christian Academy.Expenses $61,123
