Program accomplishments

  • Education & Advocacy - Public Policy: At its core, MoveOn.org Civic Action is a digital-first, multi-issue, progressive campaigning organization. In 2025, MoveOn members channeled their voices to mobilize and take collective action to protect democracy, elections, and rights. Together, MoveOn members co-led some of the largest and most visible mobilizations and protests in history, signed and delivered petitions, participated in lobby visits, wrote tens of thousands of letters, made tens of thousands of calls, and met with legislators at their offices, in their districts, and on Capitol Hill.
    Expenses $9,422,261 · grants $690,500
  • Education & Advocacy - Digital Organizing: MoveOn.org Civic Action leverages digital technology to drive rapid-response issue campaigns at scale during high-impact moments, while building sustainable campaigns that resonate and grow over time. Millions of MoveOn members take action through a plethora of tactics: organizing or attending in-person mobilizations, hosting community events, signing petitions, calling their elected officials, and more. Tens of thousands of grassroots leaders have also participated in MoveOn virtual and in-person trainings designed to strengthen their skills to organize in their communities. MoveOn's model allows it to mobilize millions to take action to protect and strengthen democracy, advance progressive foreign policy, and (SEE SCHEDULE O) fight for economic justice, climate justice, health care for all, and so much more. Leading into 2025, MoveOn witnessed the rapid evolution of digital organizing and mobilization tactics. With increased reliance on digital platforms for engagement, in 2025 MoveOn worked to modernize how we engage in digital organizing in order to continue to drive impact on a host of issues our members care deeply about.
    Expenses $1,175,740
  • Education & Advocacy - Petitions Platform: With compounding crises and attacks against our communities, MoveOn.org Civic Action's free petition platform has been a catalyst for millions of MoveOn members and progressive partners from across the country. It has propelled us forward on issues that impact our lives from affordability to health care to immigration to voting rights and so much more. Whether at the forefront of a campaign or as an integral part of a larger strategy, MoveOn petitions have empowered local change-makers to make tangible differences at the local, state, and federal level. Petition highlights from 2025 include responding to several constitutional flashpoints, such as opposing sweeping presidential immunity and sweeping militarized deployments against civilians, (SEE SCHEDULE O) as well as defending judicial independence, birthright citizenship, and free speech. Additionally, MoveOn members called to unmask ICE agents, release the Epstein files, support federal employees during the government shutdown, protect health care subsidies, and much, much more.
