Program accomplishments

  • In FY 24/25, CMR served 1031 POC seniors and adults with 20 hours/wk. of classes in dance, drama, art, music, and technology. Host Senior Centers were Sister Annunciata, Mt Carmel, Rain Boston Road, and Chris Blenman. Participants include those who are in wheelchairs, who are amputees, use canes and walkers, and have Alzheimer's or dementia. CMR 804 member email newsletter increased access to arts through YouTube dance concerts, classic movies, and standup comedians. The humor and music eased anxiety. Links with the highest clicks were vintage concerts from different genres of music. CMR used Murray Oberry's New York State Minority/Women Business Enterprise, Afritech, to develop online arts strategy. Afritech helped seniors set up devices and learn zoom. Afritech Workshops teach seniors how to find free arts services on the web. CMR's BizBeyond program serves the POC Arts community by providing supportive business services to organizations and individuals. CMR's BizBeyondTM is honored with the opportunity to increase and improve business in four communities in the Bronx (NDAs 8, 9, 10, and 12) and West Harlem. BizBeyond's expert business consultants are POC who provide FREE 1 on 1 coaching to artist entrepreneurs, which help them thrive and grow. BizBeyondTM helps artists and entrepreneurs, from figuring out how to monetize a hobby or passion, supplementing income with a part-time business, and those who mainly support themselves full-time with a company. BizBeyondTM offers solutions tailored to meet their needs and increase their profitability. BizBeyondTM goal is to assist businesses in developing more profits, expanding their business, or supporting those who wish to start a business.
