Mission
THE NHCBA SERVES THE LEGAL PROFESSION, PROMOTES THE ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE AND ACTS AS A CONDUIT BETWEEN THE BAR AND THE PUBLIC. IT PROVIDES CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION, NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES AND MEMBERSHIP SERVICES; ENCOURAGES AND FACILITATES PUBLIC SERVICE; ADDRESSES THE LEGAL NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY; AND ADVOCATES ON BEHALF OF ITS MEMBERS.
Program accomplishments
- LAWYER REFERRAL SERVICE - THE NHCBA SPONSORS THE LAWYER REFERRAL SERVICE (LRS), A NOT-FOR-PROFIT SERVICE THAT PROVIDES CLIENTS WITH UNBIASED REFERRALS TO ATTORNEYS IN NEW HAVEN COUNTY AND SURROUNDING AREAS.
- MEMBERSHIP AND EDUCATION - NHCBA PROVIDES MEMBERS WITH ACCESS TO CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION SEMINARS, NEWSLETTERS, AND NETWORKING EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. NHCBA ALSO SPONSORS PROJECTS TO BENEFIT LOCAL CHARITES AND PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEMBERS TO VOLUNTEER FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE.
