Mission
THE MISSION OF RHODE ISLAND FOOD DEALERS ASSOCIATION IS TO REPRESENT THE INDUSTRY; TO ASSIST THE RETAIL AND SUPPLY MEMBERS IN INCREASING THEIR CURRENT AND FUTURE EFFECTIVENESS AND PROFITABILITY THROUGH INFORMATION, EDUCATION, AND LEGISLATIVE REPRESENTATION; AND TO EMPHASIZE A HIGH STANDARD OF INTEGRITY, QUALITY, AND EFFICIENCY IN THE CONDUCT OF THE INDUSTRY.
Program accomplishments
- ANNUAL AND INTERIM MEETINGS AND PROGRAMS - TO PROVIDE ITS MEMBERS WITH INFORMATION RELATING TO INDUSTRY MATTERS TO IMPROVE SERVICES TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. PROGRAMS INCLUDE ENERGY CONSERVATION AND LOWER COST GROUP PROGRAMS FOR ELECTRICITY AND NATURAL GAS. IN ADDITION THE ORGANIZATION HAS PROVIDED SEMINARS AND TRAINING IN FOOD SAFETY, WIC PROGRAM REVIEWS AND SNAP PROGRAM UPDATES.
- ANNUAL CONVENTION - TO INFORM MEMBERS ABOUT INDUSTRY TRENDS AND TO PROVIDE A FORUM FOR DISCUSSION AMONG MEMBERS AS TO INDUSTRY PROBLEMS AND ISSUES.
- THE RHODE ISLAND FOOD DEALERS ASSOCIATION ACTIVELY UNDERTAKES MANY ISSUES OF IMPORTANCE TO OUR MEMBERSHIP BY BEING INVOLVED WITH MANY STATE REGULATORY AND SOCIAL DEPARTMENTS, AS WELL AS FEDERAL AGENCIES, TO GIVE OUR INPUT INTO ANY NEW OR EXISTING REGULATIONS THAT AFFECT OR MAY EFFECT OUR MEMBERS.
