These programs are designed for children with Autism, Asperger's, Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD/ADD), and other related disorders. ASA uses traditional sports to develop sports knowledge and physical motor skills. Participation in these sports programs helps children increase self-confidence, communication, independence, and socialization skills. AUTISM SPECTRUM ATHLETICS is dedicated to offering a stress-free and positive peer support community-based sports socialization program for children with spectrum disorders. Spectrum Programs ASA programs are designed to be non-competitive and stress-free for all ages. ASA utilizes coaches and junior coaches to manage teams, but we encourage involvement from parents, siblings, and volunteers to assist players who need continued guidance. ASA always promotes excellent sportsmanship, team concepts, and player participation. Players Commitment All players are encouraged to attend every practice, game, and event. However, with spectrum children, that is not always possible. ASA wants players and parents to know that absences from any game or practice are acceptable. Part III, line 28 Autism Spectrum Athletics provided inclusive sports fitness and recreational opportunities for children and young adults on the autism spectrum and with related developmental disabilities. Part III, line 31 Winter Season Sports (Jan-Mar) Basketball This program is designed for moderate to high functioning children from ages 7 to 18. Basketball team are based on age, with modified rules to benefit number of players and ability level Bowling This program is designed for low to high functioning children from ages 4 to 18. Players will bowl two games per week and will be assigned to a team with a volunteer for guidance Spring Season Sports (Apr - June) Baseball This program is designed for low to high functioning children from ages 7 to 18. Baseball games are one hour long, with modified rules to benefit number of players and ability level T-Ball This program is designed for low to high functioning children for ages 4 to 6. Tball games are 2 to 3 innings, with modified rules to benefit number of players and ability level Fall Season Sports (Sept - Nov) Flag Football This program is designed for moderate to high functioning children from ages 8 to 18. Football games are one hour long, with modified rules to benefit number of players and ability level. *This sport will involve minor physical contact* Soccer This program is designed for low to high functioning children from ages 4 to 18.
