Over 1,170 people participated in our disability awareness activities, and 150 children received direct support, including therapy, referrals, and emergency assistance. We provided psychosocial support and counseling to 250 returnees and caregivers in six provinces. The Enabled Children School in Kabul served 88 students (44 girls, 44 boys) and was honored among the Top 10 Worlds Best Schools for overcoming adversity. Five students transitioned to mainstream education, and over 1,200 therapy sessions were delivered. At our ECIAO Care Home, 29 orphaned children with disabilities received 24/7 care, education, and health services. The facility moved to a new, disability-friendly building in August 2024. Our Social and Economic Inclusion Program empowered 20 women and girls with disabilities through vocational training, job placements, and over 170 counseling sessions, while also building partnerships for inclusive employment. These regular monitoring visits were also accompanied by weekly meetings and daily calls and email exchanges about every aspect of program implementation, from financial reporting to program design and management. In addition, ECIs executive director receives and reviews monthly financial expense reports, which includes receipts scans, for all of its programs and its grant to Window of Hope. The ED also receives and reviews monthly budgets for its programs and its grant to Window of Hope. For its grant to Window of Hope, ECI has requisite documentation in place, namely a partnership agreement, that lays out the specifications of the partnership, including expectations for financial and narrative reporting. Following August 2021, ECIs Executive Director moved out of Afghanistan, and now works remotely. Weekly meetings are now conducted virtually, in addition to receiving monthly reports, approving monthly budgets, and daily calls and communication/emails.
