      <PrimaryExemptPurposeTxt>ALL LEADERS MUST SERVE (ALMS) IS A MENTOR ORGANIZATION THAT EMPOWERS YOUNG ADULTS AGES 15-25 THROUGH JOB READINESS (WORK ETHIC, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS) TO BECOME SELF-SUFFICIENT ADULTS WHO GIVE BACK TO THEIR COMMUNITY.</PrimaryExemptPurposeTxt>
      <ProgramSrvcAccomplishmentGrp>
        <DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>All Leaders Must Serve (ALMS) is a mentor-driven organization that empowers young adults to transition into job readiness and adult life. ALMS trains retired and professional volunteer mentors to serve high school students. Since COVID-19 ALMS has continued to build volunteers and students each year. In 2025 ALMS worked with 7 active mentors.The accomplishments of ALMS from January 2025 to December 2025 include youth referrals from the District Attorneys office Restorative Justice Program, and young men from the Yolo County Juvenile Detention Center. ALMS also trained 60 high school students from Woodland high schools with a total of 70 young adults with a significant focus on the ALMS Trust Series. The three public schools in Woodland were Cache Creek, Pioneer, and Woodland High School.The ALMS Trust Series trains in the 13 characteristics of being a trustworthy person and key flags to identifying personalities that are safe to trust on the job and in their personal life. The 13 characteristics are necessary to be a trustworthy person. We also continue to address and include work ethic, communication skills and professional leadership and behavior. Through the programs small group discussions, students address their anxiety and build community that addresses depression. This training is crucial in addressing the pressing need that emerged during and after the COVID 19 pandemic, in which youth are still struggling with social and emotional needs.All program participants were between the ages of 15-25 looking for help in job readiness and transitioning into adult life. Youth shared that information from social media creates fear of failure, rejection, and much more. There is a disconnect between what is real and what is not and social media does not encourage real-time social interaction with real people. Students share that there are many reasons not to trust or build relationships which continue the disconnect. The fear of being wrong, failing or other unknown consequences (just to name a few) can be paralyzing. The fear of failure often prevents youth from venturing out to seek jobs, and social media has created the impression that employers are out to get you with endless examples from postings done by unsuccessful candidates.In response to most of the students we encountered, we set out to train and empower youth to understand trust in their personal and future professional world. The success stories of these students, who manage their fears of understanding the adult workforce with the information from the ALMS Job Readiness curriculum and the Trust Series, are a testament to the effectiveness of our approach. We trained the youth so that they can succeed after getting a job to excel as trustworthy employees. ALMS also included a $200 stipend for each student who maintained perfect attendance during the training as an incentive for being reliable, participating, and becoming a team player. Analytical thinking, leadership role playing, and cognitive and communication skills are experienced throughout the program. Relationships and community between peers and mentors are a result of these sessions.ALMSs support extends beyond training sessions. We also provide mentors to assist students in obtaining their CA IDs and social security cards, both are crucial documents for employment. Many of the low-income students did not have these documents or a bank account, which were significant barriers to their job readiness. With mentor guidance and the $200 stipend, the students worked with their parents to overcome this obstacle and become job ready for employment.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>
