<ProgramSrvcAccomplishmentGrp>
<DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>Program Accomplishments School?Based Programming in New Haven Over the past year, Equity Enrichment Alliance deepened its school?based footprint across New Haven by delivering targeted leadership and enrichment programs inside partner schools. At Celentano Biotech, Health and Medical Magnet School, the Alliance led the Biotech Leadership Academy, providing students with hands?on leadership development, college and career exposure, and structured mentoring aligned to STEM pathways. At High School in the Community, the Alliance ran in?school programming focused on personal development, postsecondary readiness, and social?emotional skills, strengthening students? confidence and connection to their academic goals. Creation of the Reset Room To address behavior, regulation, and school climate proactively, the Alliance designed and launched a ?Reset Room? model that gives students a structured space to pause, reflect, and re?enter learning ready to engage. The Reset Room integrates restorative practices and social?emotional strategies, offering students guided reflection, calming tools, and goal?setting rather than traditional punitive responses. This innovation has helped schools respond to student stress and conflict in ways that build skills, preserve dignity, and keep more young people in class instead of out of school. Social?Emotional Learning Workshops Over the course of the year, Equity Enrichment Alliance facilitated more than 200 social?emotional learning workshops grounded in the CASEL framework, reaching students across its partner schools. These sessions explicitly built core SEL competencies?self?awareness, self?management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision?making?through interactive activities, reflection, and culturally responsive discussion. By aligning to CASEL, the Alliance ensured that its workshops reinforced evidence?based skills that support academic success, positive behavior, and long?term well?being. GEM Conference: Statewide Recognition for Young Men of Color The Alliance also hosted the GEM (Generationally Enhancing Men) Conference, now the largest statewide conference in Connecticut dedicated to honoring young men of color. This year?s convening recognized 100 middle school young men of color as honorees and brought together more than 600 middle school boys from across the state for a day of affirmation, mentorship, and exposure to college and career pathways. Through keynote speakers, breakout sessions, and recognition ceremonies, the GEM Conference provided a powerful counter?narrative to deficit?based stories about boys of color and showcased their brilliance, leadership, and potential. Girls? Mentorship and Statewide Collaboration In addition to its work with boys, the Alliance successfully launched and ran an all?girls mentorship program, creating a dedicated space for young women to build leadership skills, self?advocacy, and peer support. The organization also co?hosted panels and conversations in partnership with the Connecticut Commission on Women, Children, Seniors, Equity & Opportunity, helping elevate student voice and connect school?based experiences to statewide discussions on equity and opportunity for youth. Dress for Success and Soft Skills Training Equity Enrichment Alliance formed a strategic partnership with Men?s Wearhouse to bring ?dress for success? workshops directly into schools. Through these sessions, students learned how to present themselves professionally for interviews, internships, and public events, including guidance on attire, communication, and first impressions. The workshops were paired with soft?skills training?covering topics such as networking, workplace etiquette, and effective communication?ensuring that students not only looked the part but also developed the interpersonal skills needed to thrive in professional settings. Addressing Absenteeism with the Probate Court To tackle barriers to student engagement beyond the classroom, Equity Enrichment Alliance worked with the New Haven Regional Probate Court to help reduce chronic absenteeism in New Haven schools. Through this collaboration, the Alliance supported families and students in understanding the long?term impact of missed instructional time, connecting them with resources, and creating plans to improve attendance. This partnership positioned the organization as a bridge between schools, families, and systems actors, with the goal of keeping more young people consistently in school and on track.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>
