Marketing activities included: Development and distribution of culturally responsive outreach materials to inform families about available health and educational services Community-based outreach campaigns to increase participation in Back-to-School Health Clinics and school-based mental health programs Digital and social media communications to reach underserved populations and improve access to care Engagement efforts with schools, community partners, and local organizations to expand program reach and service utilization These marketing efforts are considered program service expenses because they are essential to delivering services, increasing participation among eligible populations, and fulfilling the organization's charitable mission. The expenses were necessary to ensure that targeted populations were aware of and able to access critical services. Project LINK respectfully requests abatement of any late filing penalties. The delay in filing Form 990 was due to administrative and operational challenges, including limited volunteer availability during the period of financial record compilation and final review. These limitations impacted the organization's ability to finalize supporting documentation in a timely manner. The organization also experienced delays related to adjustments in external administrative requirements affecting internal processing timelines, which contributed to the extended preparation period. Despite these challenges, Project LINK exercised ordinary business care and prudence in gathering all required financial and governance information. The organization acted in good faith and filed the return as soon as all necessary information was finalized and reviewed. Project LINK has since strengthened internal processes to ensure timely filing in future years.
