Currently, the Executive Director's wages were kept below comparable roles in larger non-profit entities in order to (a) scale up operations (reserve funds for other staff) and (b) build a 10-12-month operating surplus to keep the organization stable amidst anticipated funding challenges due to economic instability in the US.
