<Desc>Form 990 Part III Line 4c - Program Service AccomplishmentsLand Preservationa. Pilot: We completed our pilot project in partnership with the Shanenawa people, securing 284 acres of their ancestral territory in Feij, Acre, Brazil. Through this initiative, our team helped establish the legal framework that enabled the Vakayni Cooperative (Local Shanenawa Cooperative) to purchase and hold the land title in perpetuity. To document and share the impact of this achievement, MOTA also produced a short film featuring the voices and perspectives of the Shanenawa community. The production involved traveling to the territory and conducting on-site interviews with the local community. b. Monitoring: We continued to identify and monitor threats to Indigenous territories in the State of Acre, Brazil, and shared these with Indigenous leaders.c. Local Governance: We brought legal and accountancy support to the Huni Kuin Federation of the State of Acre (FEPHAC).</Desc>

<Desc>Form 990 Part III Line 4e - Program Service AccomplishmentsEducationWe conducted multiple environmental education workshops and events in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and San Diego US on Indigenous culture and sustainability. We additionally ran environmental health workshops tackling good practices for waste disposal, women and children health and water safety and the impact of products from the city on Indigenous Health. The workshops took place in 3 villages, Mibaia, Agua Viva and Segredo Do Artizao in the Indigenous territory of Praia do Carapana bringing together women representatives, health and agroforestry agents and chiefs of 11 Huni Kuin Indigenous communities.</Desc>

<Desc>Form 990 Part III Line 4d - Program Service AccomplishmentsCultural Preservationa. House of Artisans in Segredo, State of Acre, Brazil: MOTA built the first House of Artisans using traditional building techniques in the village of Segredo do Arteso (The Artisan Secret), Praia do Carapana Region, State of Acre, Brazil. The House serves as a communal space for women of six neighboring villages to come together for braiding and weaving.b. We supported the revival of a traditional ancestral practice called Nixpupima, which is a rite of passage from youth to adulthood for the Huni Kuin People. This was a large event which gathered several elders from multiple territories and the youth of 6 communities in the village of Mibaya, Praia do Carapana Territory, State of Acre, Brazil. This was the first time in 15 years that Praia do Carapana was able to organize this large event to revive their ancestral practice. This event took place in the village of Mibaya, Praia do Carapana Territory, State of Acre, Brazil. civilization. The imminent sale of this land was endangering the future of the Shanenawa and their traditional way of life.</Desc>
