Prior to the discussions regarding Mo P&A business contracts, agreements, or personnel matters, when a conflict-of-interest is confirmed or, and individual's interest has the appearance of conflict-of-interest the individual is required to refrain from participation in discussion (even asked to leave the meeting) and is restricted from voting. An annual review of job classes is conducted by the Executive Director. Proposed changes are forwarded to the Board of Directors for consideration, and formal approval. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 Mo P&A makes its governing documents, conflict-of-interest policy, and financial statements available to the public during the tax year in hard copy or electronic copy, upon request. Form 990, Part XI, Line 9 $1 rounding reconciliation adjustment Form 990, Part XII, Line 3b Audit in Process Missouri Protection & Advocacy Services changed its General Ledger accounting software from Intuit EasyACCT to Intuit QuickBooks in Tax Year 2024. Both EasyACCT and QuickBooks General Ledgers were maintained simultaneously to ensure continuity and accuracy. Mo P&A's Accountant failed to post two Department of Education drawdowns of funds on August 21, 2024, in the EasyACCT general ledger. One for the CAP program for $8,255.57 and the other for the PAIR program for $6,214.90. This caused the Tax Year 2023 Revenue to be inaccurately stated by $14,470.47. Form 990 Online software would not allow it's system to submit the inaccurate information on August 17, 2026. It took an additional eight (8) days to locate the general ledger posting errors and then properly update the correction on Form 990 Online. It was an inadvertent mistake by Mo P&A's CPA Accountant. The error was even more confusing, because the posting error should have been posted August 21, 2025.
