<ExplanationTxt>Good Helper Foundation is a small, volunteer-led public charity with no paid administrative, accounting, or tax-compliance staff. In prior years, the organization qualified to file Form 990-N and timely submitted its 2024 electronic notice. For the 2025 tax year, however, the organization's gross receipts exceeded the Form 990-N filing threshold, primarily because of foundation grants, thereby requiring the preparation and filing of Form 990-EZ for the first time. The organization required additional time to reconcile its bank and credit-card records, distinguish contributions from loans, reimbursements, and internal transfers, properly classify vehicle acquisitions and program expenses, prepare a fixed-asset inventory and depreciation information, and compile the supporting information required for the applicable schedules. The delay was also affected by the temporary unavailability of the organization's volunteer administrative assistant, who was in France and unable to provide in-person administrative support for more than two months. Upon returning from France, the volunteer administrative assistant resumed in-person assistance and helped the organization organize its financial records, supporting documents, and filing information. Once Good Helper Foundation determined that Form 990-EZ was required, the organization acted diligently and in good faith to assemble its records, resolve accounting classifications, obtain appropriate assistance, and prepare a complete and accurate return. The delay was not due to willful neglect. Good Helper Foundation has since implemented additional procedures to monitor annual gross-receipts thresholds, maintain organized financial records throughout the year, review filing requirements in advance, and track all future federal filing deadlines. Accordingly, Good Helper Foundation respectfully requests abatement of any late-filing penalty based on reasonable cause. Under penalties of perjury, I declare that the facts stated in this explanation are true, correct, and complete to the best of my knowledge and belief.
