State senators are present to meet with to share personal stories and to discuss hopes and needs for the future. The Arc of Norfolk sponsored 14 individuals to attend, including support staff and the director. The cost was $2,182. This cost covered the attendance, meal and stay. The Arc of Norfolk hosts an Annual Holiday Soup Supper for self-advocates, family and staff. This is one of the largest events. For many individuals who experience a disability and have family nearby, this may be the extent of their holiday celebration.
