The delay was the result of reasonable cause and not willful neglect. During the filing period, we were managing multiple year-end program obligations, including finalizing required financial reconciliations and preparing for an accurate and complete submission. As a young nonprofit with limited staff capacity, these overlapping responsibilities temporarily delayed our ability to compile the final figures needed for the return. Once the issue was identified, we acted promptly to gather the outstanding information and submit the Form 990 as quickly as possible. CORE maintains strong internal controls and is committed to full IRS compliance. We have reviewed our internal procedures and have implemented an updated filing calendar and reminder system to prevent any future delays.
