The IRS rejected it with an error code 2605 (EIN must be established as an exempt organization filer in the e-file database) We were issued a new determination letter in September listing our reporting period being August 1-July 31. We had previously been reporting on the calendar year. I called the e-file help desk on December 11, 2025. I was given a case number IM674353. I was told that an IRS employee would call me in within 3 days to help me file. No one called. On the 4th day I called the e-file help line again. I was told that I'd have to wait an additional 2 weeks for someone to call me back. After 2 weeks, I called again. I was then told someone would call me after January 4. I called on January 5th and I was told that they would call me back, but they couldn't say when. I notified my Taxpayer Advocate Manuel Delapena, he told me to stop trying to call the help desk and just wait for them to call me. They haven't called me yet after 6 weeks. The IRS issued a new determination letter on January 14. My Taxpayer Advocate advised me to try to refile now.
