Part 1.16. Other expenses include the following: Supplies and materials for operating the farms including livestock purchases, livestock feed, temporary infrastructure, plants, seeds, and irrigation equipment ($21,088.34). Vehicle expenses including gas and repairs ($1175.90). Office expenses such as printing and account software ($998). Insurance ($227). Advertising and marketing ($56.34). Fundraising Fees ($53.30). Legal Fees ($25). The cost of sponsoring the cost of an educational course for 2024 apprentices ($3000). Part 2.26. We received a pledged donation of $70,000 that we would receive when our non-profit status was awarded. Because we only got our 501(c)3 status right at the end of 2024, none of this money came in during the 2024 season. To bridge the funding gap, Founder and Executive Director Amy Scanes-Wolfe provided a $26,000 zero interest loan to High Plains Permaculture, to be repaid in full in 2025 when funding came in. Explanation of Amended Return. When setting out to file Form990 for 2025, I realized there were many accounting errors in 2024 that resulted in an incorrect filing. These errors were the result of being a novice bookkeeper and not catching certain discrepancies that should have been caught. They have now all been corrected, with the following adjustments: $5 extra from a sample invoice that counted incorrectly towards contributions was removed. A $66.66 donation had been miscategorized and omitted from contributions. The Colorado Secretary of State payment was miscategorized and excluded from expenses. It is now included in Other Expenses/Legal Fees. There were many payments collected through QuickBooks, whose sales receipts had appeared as duplicate payments in QuickBooks, totaling $5742. These were deleted from a combination of Program Service Revenue and Gross Profit from Sales of Inventory. Payments to Pawnee Buttes Seed Company totaling $1158 were miscategorized and did not appear in Other Expenses/Supplies & Materials originally, so these were correctly categorized. One of our land partners, Lucy Tuck, reimbursed us for the cost of the seed ($1158), and the reimbursement did not originally show up on the Statement of Activity. It was added to Other Expenses/Supplies & Materials. The end of year bank account balance was corrected to $6083.
