Pt VI, Line 7b Certain rights are reserved to members of the organization, including: 1) elect the Board of Directors, including the voting delegate to the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation, 2) adopt amendments to the Articles of Incorporation, and 3) adopt amendments to those bylaws designated as member bylaws. Pt VI, Line 12c On an annual basis, all officers, directors, and key employees are required to sign a statement which affirms that they have: 1) received a copy of the conflict of interest policy, 2) read and understood the policy, 3) agreed to comply with the policy, 4) understand that the Organization is tax-exempt and in order to maintain its federal tax exemption it must engage primarily in activities which accomplish its tax-exempt purpose. A sub-committee, comprised of non-conflicted Board of Directors, annually receives all conflict of interest information, reviews, and determines if there are conflicts of interest. The committee then reports its findings back to the Board. Pt VI, Line 19 The Organization does not make its governing documents, conflict of interest policy, or financial statements available for public inspection. Pursuant to state law, some documents may be available to members. Other Part III, Line 4a - Policy - Delaware County Farm Bureau hosted two Legislative Coffees with Delaware County Economic Development, to discuss current issues impacting our community and agriculture. We also held a meeting with representatives of our U.S. legislators to stay updated on key agricultural topics. Delaware County Farm Bureau also met with county supervisors, the county engineer, and the county auditor to address local priorities including budget, property taxes, zoning, and infrastructure. Other Part III, Line 4b - Promotion - Delaware County Farm Bureau sponsored the Plantin Snack Sacks program with KMCH, delivering snacks to farmers during planting season. We sponsor trophies at our county fair. Delaware County Farm Bureau also hosted the DelCo Ag Golf Classic with Pork, Dairy and Cattlemen to raise funds to address food insecurity in Delaware County. Delaware County Farm Bureau sponsored the Ag Luncheon to support and recognize local. Delaware County Farm Bureau supported several educational and community programs. Our Women in Ag efforts included sponsoring Boots in the Barn and an Annies inspired Grain Marketing program to help participants strengthen their marketing knowledge. We also supported the Reverse Raffle event to raise funds for the county fair. Other Part III, Line 4c - Membership - Delaware County Farm Bureau supports its members by providing opportunities that encourage learning, involvement, and networking within our ag community. These efforts help our members stay informed about what is happening in agriculture on all levels that might impact them. Membership plays an important role in keeping our organization strong. It helps us continue our outreach, represent the voices of our members, and carry out the day to day work that supports agriculture in Delaware County. Through these efforts, Delaware County Farm Bureau continues to build relationships and promote a better understanding of agriculture throughout the county.
