<ExplanationTxt>Energy in Action expanded it's programing in 2024 and added a second Splash Camp that integrated a Drowning Prevention Day in partnership with the Ugandan Ministry of Health as well as a Water Polo Coaches Clinic with coaches from Tanzania, Kenya and Rwanda. The Spash Camp activities took place over 3 weeks and EIA spent 152,618 in total. We served over 200 primary and secondary school children in Kampala with swim instruction, water safety training, as well as public health awareness. We had 33 volunteers from the USC to run the programming in partnership with local organizations including Swim Safe Uganda and the Boy Scouts of Uganda. Of the 152,618, we spent 34,667 on accommodations. 23,400 of that amount was for renting out the Rest Gardens Conference Resort where we held the Splash Camp. The remainder was for hotels during transit and short excursions to cultural sites for volunteers. In addition, we spent 36,842 on transportation for all groups, including daily busses that brought Splash Camp Participants from their schools to Rest Gardens. 23,212 were spent on Splash Camp Supplies, including bathing suits for participants, towels, water polo goals and balls, camp shirts for participants and staff as well as materials and supplies to run camp, such as poster boards, tape, markers etc. We spent an additional 22,351 to offset costs our local partners incurred to support Splash Camp, including staff time and volunteer stipends. We spent an additional 10,000 on a food contract to provide breakfast, lunch and dinner to all participants and volunteers during camp. Finally, we spent 16,218 on organized events and excursions for camp volunteers and staff. In addition to Splash Camp, we supported a Yale Research study on indoor pollution and burn injuries covering domestic travel, research materials and accommodations in the amount of 7,809. EIA continued the wind down of it's tuition support for secondary school. We currently only have three students that are being supported. We spent 5,220 in school fees, tuition, books and supplies. Finally, we supported programming in Kenya through Project Elim in March and July focusing on Public Health and Women's Health in particular. Actress Diane Farr was engaged in that project and we distributed over 1,000 menstrual underwear to local girls and young women in the Kibra Slums of Nairobi.</ExplanationTxt>
