A stand-out project for 2025 was the addition of a Miyawaki microforest in South Norwalk, CT 15180 0 Water Quality Testing and River Cleanups: Two cleanups engaged 35 volunteers and removed 400 pounds of trash from the Norwalk River. NRWA worked with a University of Connecticut lab to test water quality in rivers across Fairfield County and summarized the results in 2025 report available at NorwalkRiver.org. NRWA sent one email to state legislators asking for support of this bill. The volunteer Board member participated in 6 radio interviews and 2 newspaper interviews regarding the proposed bill. This volunteer attended 3 meetings with legislators and gave 2 talks at environmental conferences where this bill was mentioned.
