<ExplanationTxt>Breast Friends Lactation and Support Services respectfully requests relief from the late-filing penalty based on reasonable cause. Prior to the filing period the organization experienced significant changes in its officers which made it difficult to obtain the financial records and other information necessary to prepare an accurate and complete return during the filing period. Former officers who were no longer affiliated with the organization were uncooperative in providing information resulting in delays beyond the organizations control. After the majority of the required information was finally obtained the individual responsible for preparing and filing the return experienced the unexpected death of her grandfather. As the person responsible for administering matters related to her grandfathers estate she was required to address time-sensitive legal and administrative obligations that carried strict deadlines and potential financial consequences if not handled promptly. These unforeseen circumstances further delayed completion of the return. Once these issues were resolved the organization promptly completed and filed the return. The return was filed approximately two months after the original due date. The organization has taken steps to improve its recordkeeping and information-sharing procedures during officer transitions to help ensure timely filings in the future. The organization respectfully requests that the IRS consider these circumstances as reasonable cause and abate any penalties associated with the late filing.</ExplanationTxt>
