<Desc>The Focolare Movement in recent years has begun coordinating efforts to deploy the spirituality of unity to bring people together to counter polarization and division. A major part of this work is taking place in the Washington, DC area but the effect is across the U.S. and beyond. Efforts include a Washington, DC based activity called the Focolare Hub that features Focolare Forum for Dialogue and Culture and interreligious dialogue. The work also includes Racial Equity (Courageous Conversations), the Youth Center for North America (YCNA), and other activities of the Focolare Movement aimed at breaking down barriers through the spirituality of unity, implementing Jesus' prayer to the Father that all may be one (cf. Jn 17).</Desc>

<PurposeOfGrantTxt>The ongoing conflict across the Middle East continues to bring devastating suffering to countless families who want nothing more than peace and a safe place to call home. The Focolare Movement, with communities present in many of the affected areas, is renewing its commitment at every level - from emergency aid for the most vulnerable, deprived of basic necessities and living in constant fear, to active solidarity initiatives on the ground. We are renewing our appeal for your support to help the thousands of families who have been forced to flee. Many have lost everything; others have found temporary shelter in facilities stretched beyond their limits. We want to remain close to those who are suffering and stand alongside the local communities offering refuge and practical help. Every contribution makes a difference and allows us to build together a future of hope and reconstruction. Join us in this commitment: peace is also built this way, by choosing not to look the other way.</PurposeOfGrantTxt>

<PurposeOfGrantTxt>The Focolare Foundation is rooted in the rich legacy of Mariapolis Luminosa, an over forty year experience in Hyde Park, New York that continues to inspire and guide our mission. To strengthen the Focolare Movement for future generations, we have established a dedicated endowment fund supported by donations and proceeds from the sale of the Mariapolis Luminosa property. An endowment fund is a permanent financial resource where the initial funds are invested, and the earnings are used to support the Movement's activities. This ensures steady, long-term financial stability, allowing contributions from the past, present, and future to create a lasting impact for generations to come.</PurposeOfGrantTxt>
