It is the policy of the Organization that all properties subject to a conservation easement or conservation-related deed restriction held and enforceable by the Organization will be monitored and inspected at least once per year. A report shall be prepared for each monitoring/inspection visit, detailing any relevant changes in property condition observed or information obtained. This policy is reflected in the Organizations easement recording document. Part II, Line 9-Description of easement reporting Easement accounting policiesThere is no market for any of the conservation easements received by the Organization. Conservation easements donated to the Organization are recorded at a zero value in the statements of activities and changes in net assets. Conservation easements that are purchased are expensed. If outside funding is received to purchase the easement, then this funding is shown as revenue resulting in a net zero effect on net assets. Easement maintenance and project expenses are expensed as incurred.
