NW-Links, Inc. would recognize future accrued interest and penalties related to unrecognized tax benefits and liabilities in income tax expense if such interest and penalties are incurred. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 3 NW Links utilizes the services of Region I, an unrelated organization, for day-to-day management and fiscal host responsibilities of NW Links. NW Links pays an annual management fee to Region I for management services provided. For calendar year 2024, Bob Wheeler, the Executive Director of Region I, received a total of $173,779 in salary and benefits from Region I, a portion of which is for the services Bob Wheeler provides to NW-Links. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 8b There are no committees with the authority to act on behalf of the governing board. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11b The Fiscal Host will review the Form 990. Once the 990 has been reviewed it is presented to the governing board. Once the 990 has been approved by the board, the Fiscal Host will provide a final approval for the filing of the Form 990 to the IRS. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12c All board members are required to bring any potential conflicts to the attention of the board. After the circumstances have been presented the board votes to determine if a conflict exists. The individual with the potential conflict abstains from voting to determine if a conflict exists. If a conflict is determined to exist the board determines thru reasonable means if the transaction is in the best interest of the board, and what steps to take at that time. Restrictions may be placed on the individual with the conflict, and may include abstaining from voting on issues pertaining to the conflict. The individual with the conflict may also be removed from their position if necessary. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 15 There are no officers or key employees at NW-Links that receive compensation. The board is not compensated. The Fiscal Host is an employee of Region 1. The services provided by the Fiscal Host are included in the management fee that is paid to Region 1. The board approves the management fees. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, line 19 The conflict of interest policy, financial statements and governing documents are available upon request. Form 990, Part VII, Section B The amount reported for independent contractor compensation is based on the Form 1099 reporting requirements. Therefore the amount reflects the gross payments to the independent contractor before the e-rate rebate is applied. Part IX data and internet expense reported for the fiscal year reflects payments for the service, less the e-rate rebate.
