<ExplanationTxt>Film ----- Trace, Voices of the Second Generation Our award-winning film, Traces, Voices of the Second Generation, continues screening here in the United States and internationally. This past year, we screened Traces, and producer Stacey Goldring participated in film Q&As after screenings in Tel Aviv, at Ben Guirion University Beer Sheva, University of Haifa and Jerusalem, where the documentary was discussed in the Jerusalem Post. In Traces, Voices of the Second Generation, Holocaust survivors children share their Traces highlights the unbreakable strength and remarkable resilience of the human spirit. Traces ensures these stories are remembered and understood by all. Translations continue to grow in order for people all over the world to screen the film, including translations in Ukrainian, Russian, and German. Trace has lesson plans in multiple languages. Funding for further outreach and more translations continues to ensure we can screen Trace around the world and make it available in classrooms. ----- Hope in Hiding Fundraising has begun for the first phase of production-research and development-for our Hope and Hiding film project continues with an effort to raise funds for research and development. Hope and Hiding tells the story of Ike and Bertie Cohen, who were strolling through their neighborhood park with their baby boy when a friend approached and told them you cant go home. The Nazis were waiting to arrest them at their house. From that moment on, their lives became unimaginable. Having to give up their son to save him, this couple made the profound decision to hide. Isolated, for years, they hid in a small room. Face The striking story, set in Rotterdam, will be told as a short, silent film, composed of archival footage and puppetry with an accompanying documentary that will expose the audience to the couples harrowing dilemmas, intense emotions, and amazing strength, as they coped, minute-by-minute, hiding behind the scenes. Searching For Identity has been given exclusive rights to this remarkable story. More information is available at www.hopeandhiding.org. Traces lesson plans have been translated into multiple languages and are available to teachers and the public free of charge at www.tracesfilm.com. Discussion guides for public screenings are also available. We continued our Maximize Your Memory series and ways to improve exercise and access memory for everyday use and storytelling. Participants learned how memory works, how we can maintain a strong memory, and strengthen our memory skills. Aligning with our mission to capture memory, testimonies, and stories of the Holocaust and its ongoing impact, memory is key. This series, led by Robin West, PhD, retired University of Florida professor and lauded memory expert and author, empowered attendees, and was recorded for future reference and resource. -- Public Programming LiterARTure LiterARTure, our popular four-part series explores how art and literature reflect the common bond shared by all of us. Led by art lecturer, Cindy Edelman, and SFIs Stacey Goldring, the program held at Jacksonville University, exposes audiences to the universal themes of artists and authors that bind communities and cultures together. Each year, Holocaust remembrance is also recognized in the spring for Holocaust Remembrance Day known books, and authors that represent stories from that time and works as a remembrance. LiterARTures annual Holocaust program remembers and honors and educates. All proceeds from this program benefit our work to ensure the stories told by the Second and Third Gen are remembered and understood by all. ------- Writing Workshops Our Second and Third Gen Writing Workshop now offers a one-day writing retreat that allows participants to write stories about their parents and grandparents survival stories and the Holocausts generational impact after the war ended. Writers create a lasting compilation of stories that can be used for self-reflection and educational purposes. Personally, the stories created in the workshop retreat remember and honor their parents and grandparents lives, which can be passed on as inherited heirlooms for future generations. Writers also have the opportunity to have their stories published. Their stories of growing up in a survivorship household have great historical and personal value that continue to inspire our work. During our Traces screening at Ben Guirion University, we hosted writing workshops in English and Hebrew. ----- Violins of Hope With the Jacksonville Symphony, SFI partnered as part of their Violins of Hope event, the international traveling exhibition, featuring Holocaust violins. SFI participated Holocaust education programs panel discussions at the Jacksonville Library and the University of North Florida. We also participated in selecting speakers for the performance. ----- Roots of Resilience We launched our Roots of Resilience online program for Second and Third generation survivors to come together for support and community, led by Kathy Triebwasser, LCSW. This weekly pilot program was designed to meet the needs of Holocaust survivor children and grandchildren to discuss topics germane to survivorship and well-being.</ExplanationTxt>
