It is the anchor for a 501 C 7 organization known as a Home Association which exists for the purpose of supporting American Legion Post 469 and the Ladies Auxiliary Chapter 469 and the Sons of The American Legion Squadron 469. Combined these organizations exist to fulfil the patriotic purposes expressed in their constitution's preambles which are prominently posted in their canteen. Provide 2 scholarships for Eastern High School graduates to continue their education. Organize, finance and participate in Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony. Provide financial support to local fire company, police force, elementary school, JROTC, and other civic and community organizations Marked approximately 1000 veteran graves in nine cemeteries with flags for Memorial Day. Provided a firing team that renders a three volley salute as part of local Wreathes across America program, burials, memorial day and other occasions where rendering honors is appropriate. Presented the colors at Veterans Day program conducted by Wrightsville Historical Society and at other community events when requested.
