As a newly established organization during the final weeks of the tax year the foundation had no financial operations no capital contributions no income no expenditures and no charitable activities whatsoever throughout 2025. Due to being formed so late in the year and lacking prior experience with private foundation compliance the organizers were under the mistaken belief that filing an annual return was not required for a period with absolute zero financial activity. As soon as we identified our reporting obligations we promptly initiated compliance efforts to file Form 990-PF. We respectfully request that any late-filing penalties be waived for reasonable cause given that this is our first year of operation no tax revenue was compromised and the delay was an honest misunderstanding by newly formed volunteer organizers.
