<DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>During this fiscal year, AAC had 11 schools with a total of 24 programs in candidacy for accreditation, in addition to one school with two accredited programs. Three programs entered candidacy during this fiscal year. As of January 2026, there were 549 students actively enrolled in AAC candidate and accredited programs.Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy (AYT): To support schools and institutions offering AYT, we established a bridge program for AYT recognition. This serves as a temporary, transitional status created to provide AYT programs official recognition while they prepare to enter candidacy and begin the formal accreditation process. The bridge program will remain active through June 30, 2028.In January 2026, we released the third edition of our Accreditation Handbook. This features a central handbook accompanied by three program-level compendiums that include integrated self-study guides. To ensure a thorough, fair, and consistent peer review process, AAC continues to prioritize the professional development of its Review Commissioners. In March and April 2026, AAC hosted a two-part live training session designed to provide a practical walkthrough of the accreditation review process. While primarily aimed at our current roster of reviewers, the session was also opened to representatives from candidate and accredited schools to foster greater transparency and alignment.AAC continues to strengthen its relationships with Ayurvedic education programs and institutes holding candidate or accredited status. As part of this effort, the AAC Council of Schools was established in January 2025, bringing together program representatives and AAC leadership for quarterly meetings to review accreditation policies and processes, discuss current curriculum requirements, and share feedback. During the current fiscal year, our regular meetings centered on several key priorities: exploring the establishment of an independent consortium of schools, reviewing updates to the Accreditation Handbook, and identifying additional ways to support programs in completing their self-study reports.During this fiscal year, AAC deepened its engagement with the Ayurvedic and integrative health communities with organization representation at several conferences. In March 2026, AAC served as a Community Sponsor of the 2026 California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine (CAAM) conference in Milpitas, California. Additionally, at the National Ayurvedic Medical Associations (NAMA) annual conference in April 2026 our Board President moderated the pre-conference roundtable The Future of Ayurveda: Advancing Through Education. In March 2026, our Executive Director attended the virtual spring conference of the Association of Specialized and Professional Accreditors (ASPA). This event provided a valuable opportunity for AAC to gain visibility and connect with the wider community of national accrediting agencies.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>

<ExplanationTxt>Taxpayer qualifies as publicly supported as described in section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) of the Code based on the following facts and circumstances. PUBLIC SUPPORT PERCENTAGE: Although taxpayers cumulative public support for the 2025-26 tax year was below the required 33-1/3%, it remained above 26% in the current and previous tax years. (It remained below 33.33% due to 3 years of large donations from the National Ayurvedic Medical Association, whose support ceased in the tax year ending June 30, 2024.) REPRESENTATIVE NUMBER OF DONORS: The organization had more than 200 distinct donors for the tax year ending June 30, 2025. The single donor that depressed the organizations public support percentage through outsize contributions for three tax years ceased their support two years prior to the current tax year. EXPERT GOVERNING BODY: The organization normally has at least 7 unrelated board members, all of whom are experts in the field of Ayurvedic Medicine. PUBLIC SERVICES: Over 240,000 people per year in the US benefit from Ayurvedic medicine. The organization serves the public by insuring uniformly high standards for the training of Ayurvedic practitioners. ONGOING SOLICITATION: The organization normally has a broad, ongoing program to solicit funds from the general public, including a monthly email campaign and online fundraisers featuring guest speakers appealing to a wide audience interested in Ayurvedic medicine. Its advisory council meets quarterly to discuss outreach to the public to solicit contributions. And it engages with professional organizations throughout the year to educate the public about its work and request their support.</ExplanationTxt>
