These services include training and education programming, media and communications support, program consulting, case support outreach activities, technology support, project management, administrative support, and other specialized services necessary to carry out the Foundation's exempt purpose. Form 990, Part IX, Line 24e Other expenses include bank and merchant processing fees, insurance, office supplies, postage and shipping, printing and copying, software, and technology subscriptions, telephone and internet services, dues and subscriptions, staff and volunteer training, travel, meals and meetings, licenses and permits, and other ordinary and necessary operating expenses incurred in carrying out the Foundation's exempt purposes. During the preparation of the organization's 2025 return, the Foundation identified accounting records that required additional reconciliation and correction before an accurate return could be completed. The Foundation prepared its financial records internally and undertook a comprehensive review of its year-end accounts to ensure that revenue, expenses, balance sheet accounts, and financial reporting were accurately presented. This process included correcting balance sheet accounts, reconciling financial records, and reviewing the classification of certain transactions to ensure the information reported on Form 990 was complete and accurate. The Foundation exercised ordinary business care and prudence by completing these reconciliations before filing rather than submitting a return that it believed could contain inaccuracies. The return was filed promptly after the accounting review was completed. The Foundation has strengthened its year-end closing procedures and established an earlier tax preparation timeline to help ensure timely filing of future information returns. We respectfully request that any applicable penalties be waived based on reasonable cause.
