This exempt organization employs the Executive Director and donates their expenses to CSIF under a written management agreement. Pt VI, Line 6 Members are agriculturally related 501(c)(5) and 501(c)(6) organizations. Pt VI, Line 7a Each member may designate one board member from a representative of their organization. The Board may approve, or disapprove, of any new members. Pt VI, Line 8b The organization had no committees with authority to act on behalf of the governing body. Pt VI, Line 11b A complete copy of Form 990 is provided to members of the governing body for review prior to filing. The return is then signed by an authorized officer and filed with the IRS. Pt VI, Line 12c On an annual basis, all officers, directors and key employees are required to sign a statement which affirms that they have: 1)received a copy of the conflict of interest policy, 2)read and understood the policy, 3)agreed to comply with the policy, and 4)understand that the organization is tax-exempt and in order to maintain its federal tax exemption, it must engage primarily in activities which accomplish its tax-exempt purpose. A committee, comprised of non-conflicted Board of Directors, annually receives all conflict of interest information, reviews, and determines if there are conflicts of interest. The committee then reports its findings to the full Board. Pt VI, Line 15a All officers are employed by a separate organization and their services donated to CSIF, the policies for compensation of this employee rests with the donor. Pt VI, Line 19 The organization does not make its governing documents, conflict of interest policy or financial statements available for public inspection. Pursuant to state law, some documents may be made available to members. Pt VII, Col (E) The organization utilizes the services of a member to provide the day to day management functions of CSIF. This exempt organization employs the Executive Director and donates their expenses to CSIF under a written management agreement. During 2024, the member organization paid the Executive Director reportable compensation of $176,699 and other benefits of $90,015. Other Part III, Line 4a - The Coalition to Support Iowas Farmers is a trusted and valuable resource for farm families who raise livestock. The primary purpose of CSIF is to offer educational resources and expertise to help livestock farmers grow their farms responsively and successfully. Since its launch in 2004, CSIF has provided direct assistance to more than 5,500 farm families. CSIFs services include one-on-one assistance to farm families as well as web-based resources and educational seminars that provide information on regulatory compliance and neighbor relations issues. Thousands of visitors access the CSIF website annually to access timely and important information regarding livestock farming and agriculture. The Coalition, via strategic media relationships and public relations efforts, also works to enhance the publics awareness, understanding and trust of livestock farming in Iowa. Finally, CSIFs successful efforts have served as a catalyst for the creation of other Coalitions created in New York, Nebraska and South Dakota.
