We also decided to stop the CHISPA program as initially designed. This fiscal year, we decided to expand our scope of work to help Latinx youth learn the fundamental skills of community organizing. We did this by participating in S.O.U.L.'s National Youth Organizing Training Institute. We respectfully submitted this Form 990-EZ late due to a combination of circumstances that impacted our ability to file in a timely manner. During the time of filing, the consultant that was helping with compliance lowered her hours due to life events, leaving the board responsible for this duty. Our organization is governed by an all-volunteer board with limited capacity and we had no staff employed. In order to remediate this oversight, the board has prioritized recruitment of new board members and hiring a bookkeeper. We have also been focused on redefining officer roles and amending our bylaws to streamline our approval processes. For example, authorizing the Finance Committee to review and submit required financial filings on behalf of the organization in a timely manner. We sincerely regret this oversight and appreciate your understanding. We will remain committed to full compliance moving forward.
