Pt VI, Line 11b Board members are given the opportunity to review Form 990 prior to the Executive Director signing and submitting it. Pt VI, Line 6 Membership consists of those in the recreational vehicle industry. Pt VI, Line 7a The Association President has the authority, as per the organizations bylaws, to appointment chairmen of five committees which provides each with a seat on the board of directors. Those committees are: Governmental Relations Committee, Show Committee, Convention Committee, Membership Committee, and Education Committee. Pt VI, Line 7b Some decisions of the organization are, by virtue of the bylaws, reserved to be made by the voting membership during an annual meeting of the membership which is normally held during the annual convention. Pt VI, Line 8b The only committee with the authority to act on behalf of the governing body is the Executive Committee which is then required to have its actions authenticated by vote of the Board of Directors. Pt VI, Line 10b Local chapters have independent governance and each has their own IRS exemption. Pt VI, Line 15a The Board of Directors is comprised of independent business people and they make the compensation determination by reviewing comparable salaries of other associations. The Board of Directors appointed an independent Search Committee to review candidates, their experience, and desired compensation level and then the Search Committee provided a choice of three candidates to the Board of Directors for a final decision to be made for the position of Executive Director.
