BIG SIS, Inc., is dedicated to the reintegration and empowerment of these women in becoming independent, goal-oriented and self-sufficient in society. BIG SIS hosts self-esteem building programs for teen girls and teenage mothers as well as reintegration, empowerment and self-sufficiency programs for adult women. Women, young girls, and their families have been served through innovative programming and services that address clients' specific needs since our inception in 2008. During the reporting period, BIG SIS INC. provided trauma-informed programs focused on youth empowerment, parenting support, and life skills development for underserved communities. Through the GROW (Girls Reclaiming Our Worth) program, teen girls participated in workshops on healthy decision-making, self-esteem, and pregnancy prevention, while youth impacted by parental incarceration received mentoring, enrichment, and life skills support to strengthen resilience and emotional well-being. In addition, BIG SIS INC. supported women and mothers through parenting education, resource distribution, and family stability services. Programs were delivered through both site-based services and a mobile outreach model to increase access for individuals facing transportation and other barriers. As a result, BIG SIS INC. was required to secure new accounting services and transition financial records, which delayed the preparation and completion of the return. Upon securing new accounting support, the organization promptly worked to organize and reconcile its financial information and complete the filing as soon as practicable. The organization has taken steps and implemented new financial management processes to ensure timely filings in future years. The delay was not due to willful neglect.
