The departure of the previous Executive Director, who was responsible for the custody of financial records, resulted in a temporary gap in administrative oversight. Upon the appointment of the new Executive Director, a comprehensive internal audit was required to consolidate financial data and ensure the accuracy of the Form 990. Despite exercising ordinary business care, the time required to reconstruct these records led to the delay.
