Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 The organization makes the related documents available to the public upon written request. The organization respectfully requests abatement of late-filing penalties assessed for Form 990 for the tax year listed above. The failure to file the return on time was due to reasonable cause and not due to willful neglect. During the filing period, the organization experienced circumstances beyond its control that prevented timely filing. Specifically, the organization experienced unexpected staff turnover and a transition in personnel responsible for financial reporting, which resulted in delays in gathering the information necessary to complete the return. As a result, the organization was unable to complete and submit Form 990 by the required due date despite exercising ordinary business care and prudence. Once the issue was identified and resolved, the organization took immediate steps to complete the return and file it as soon as reasonably possible. The organization has since reviewed its internal processes and implemented measures to prevent similar delays in the future. The organization has a history of compliance with its federal filing requirements and did not intentionally disregard its obligation to file Form 990 in a timely manner. Based on the facts described above, the organization believes it meets the standard for reasonable cause under Internal Revenue Code §6652(c) and respectfully requests that any late-filing penalties be waived.
