Local and State Competitions -Local and state competitions allow young women to win scholarships. The highest scoring competitors in the two age divisions are named Miss North Dakota and Miss North Dakota's Teen as determined by independent judging panels. The highest scoring individuals win the largest amount of scholarships. All finalists win scholarships - the amount varies according to their placing at the competition. 0 59543 Service and Leadership opportunities - Each participant chooses a social impact area that they can bring attention to around the state. Miss North Dakota and Miss North Dakota's Teen are among the state's most recognizable role models and typically speak to approximately 15,000 students each year.
